Antalya Museum Holiday 2023

The Antalya Museum is a museum located in the city of Antalya in Turkey, where archaeological artifacts from the region are exhibited. It was opened to visitors in 1972 as a restored old Ottoman inn located in the Kaleiçi district in the center of Antalya.

The museum covers a historical scope starting from the Paleolithic period to the Roman and Byzantine periods. Among the exhibited artifacts are ancient statues, mosaics, pottery, coins, and other archaeological findings.

One of the most interesting sections of the museum is the section where artifacts from the ancient city of Perge, which is unique to the Lycia region, are exhibited. Perge is an ancient city located approximately 15 km east of Antalya, and the exhibited artifacts include the remains of ancient theaters, agora, stadium, and ancient roads.

Another important section of the museum is the section where artifacts from the ancient city of Side are exhibited. Side is an ancient city located approximately 70 km east of Antalya, and the exhibited artifacts include the remains of ancient theaters, agora, walls, and temple ruins.

The Antalya Museum is open to visitors every day of the year, except for official holidays. It is open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm every day from April to October and from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm every day from November to March.

The museum consists of several main sections that display archaeological and historical artifacts in different areas. The exhibition areas contain a wide range of objects, from the remains of ancient cities to Roman mosaics, sculptures, ancient pottery, weapons, and armor.

Visitors can explore the Antalya Museum on their own or participate in special tours. It is also possible to book a tour with a professional guide through the museum’s website.

The museum also regularly hosts various events. Especially in the summer months, concerts, exhibitions, special screenings, and other cultural events are organized. Details of these events can be found on the museum’s website.

Those who want to visit the Antalya Museum should also be aware of the ticket prices. Museum entrance fees are more affordable for Turkish citizens, while a bit higher for foreign tourists. However, discounted tickets are also available for certain groups such as students and teachers.
The Antalya Museum is a wealth of information for visitors interested in exploring the ancient cultures and histories of the region and is one of the most important museums in Turkey.
